My Therapeutic Approach
I practice from an integrative framework that draws from multiple evidence-based modalities, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a cornerstone of my work. Every treatment plan is collaboratively designed with you, ensuring our approach aligns with your unique circumstances, goals, and cultural background. Together, we'll build a foundation of trust and understanding as we develop practical strategies for meaningful, lasting transformation.
A Culturally Informed Perspective
As a Black therapist, I bring lived experience and cultural insight that is often missing in traditional therapeutic spaces. I understand firsthand the complex challenges many clients face around racism, identity formation, and navigating cultural expectations. This perspective allows me to offer culturally responsive care that honors your full identity while addressing the unique intersections of race, gender, and mental health in contemporary society.
A Christian Perspective
As a Black male Christian therapist, my faith deeply informs my understanding of healing and wholeness. I recognize that many clients draw strength from their spiritual beliefs, and I'm equipped to explore how faith can be a powerful resource in your healing journey. Whether you're navigating questions of purpose, forgiveness, hope, or finding meaning in suffering, I can integrate biblical principles with clinical expertise when appropriate and desired. For clients who share this faith background, I offer a unique understanding of how Christian identity intersects with mental health, particularly within the Black community where faith often serves as both anchor and source of resilience.
Welcoming All Backgrounds
While my Christian faith informs my approach, I warmly welcome clients of all spiritual backgrounds, including those who are not religious. Our work together will always be guided by your beliefs, values, and comfort level. I respect and honor wherever you are in your spiritual journey—or if spirituality isn't part of your life at all.
